Moving your website without losing search

Patients who bookmarked a page, and search engines that indexed it, still land in the right place the day after launch.

Included in every build

In short

Your old site moved to a new one with every address redirected, your email left alone, and launch checked the same day.

Before launch we list every address on the old site and decide where each one should go. Each gets a permanent redirect to its new page, so nothing falls into a not found page.

Your domain stays in your name. We change only the records the website needs, and the records that carry your email are left alone unless you ask us to move email too.

On launch day we check the redirects, submit the new sitemap to Google and Bing, and watch Search Console for errors in the weeks that follow.

What you get

  • An inventory of every address on the old site
  • A permanent redirect for each one, tested before launch
  • Domain and DNS changes made in your own account
  • The sitemap submitted to Google and Bing on launch day
  • Search Console checked for errors in the weeks after launch

What it does not do

  • Rankings can move for a few weeks after any move. Redirects keep the change as small as possible.
  • Old content that does not meet your College's standard is rewritten, not copied.
  • If the old vendor holds your domain, it has to be released to you. We help with the request.
