Pharmacy and clinic website design in Alberta

Monograph designs, builds and maintains websites for pharmacies and clinics across Alberta. We are two practising pharmacists who own pharmacies in British Columbia, and every page is checked against the rules that apply in Alberta.

The rules

What a Alberta pharmacy or clinic website has to get right

Advertising rules

Pharmacies in Alberta are regulated by the Alberta College of Pharmacy, and physicians by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta. What a page may say about services, prices and outcomes follows their standards; other professions follow their own College.

The advertising rules guide and the compliance register.

Health privacy

Alberta's Health Information Act applies to custodians of health information, and the Alberta College of Pharmacy states that pharmacy professionals are custodians; physicians are custodians too. Contact details a website collects are handled under the same practice policies.

What pharmacists may prescribe

Alberta's 2026 pharmacy services fee schedule includes a fee for a pharmacist prescribing a medication at initial access. A pharmacy site can describe these services in the College's terms and send patients to book through the pharmacy's own tool.
