About

What clinician led means, and who works on your website

At Monograph two practising pharmacists, Arash Pourzare and Behnaz Alijani, set the brief, write and review the clinical and regulatory content, and direct the design and engineering specialists who build the site. Clinician led means the clinical judgement is ours and is named; it does not mean a pharmacist writes the code. Here is who does what at every step.

The term

A clinician led agency is one where a licensed health professional, not an account manager, decides what your website may say, checks it against your regulatory College's standard, and answers for it by name. At Monograph that person is one of the two founders, both pharmacists licensed and practising in British Columbia, both pharmacy owners.

Specialist built means the design and the engineering are done by people who do that for a living, directed by the founders. The founders decide what is built and review what is delivered; the specialists build it.

This is Monograph's working division of labour for every engagement. Where a practice's own team takes a step, the agreement says so.

The eight steps in full, with timelines.

What it is not

  • It is not a claim that a pharmacist writes the code. The founders direct the engineering; specialists write it.
  • It is not a claim of endorsement by any regulatory College. Monograph reviews your pages against the named standard and records what was checked; the College decides what is acceptable.
  • It is not a promise that your site is compliant. We state what was reviewed, against which standard, and on what date.

Why it matters

Every regulated profession in Canada has an advertising standard, and most of the words a practice wants to use on its website are covered by it: what you may claim, how you may describe a prescription medicine, whether you may show a testimonial. A clinician reads those standards for a living and knows which sentence will draw a complaint.

Privacy law adds a second layer. A form that collects a health card number or a medication list is handling personal health information, and it must not travel by plain email. The founders have run pharmacy intake for years and design the forms so that it does not.

The plain language guide to the advertising rules and the compliance register show the standards we review against.
